Paul Huberty, the craftsman and owner of Shaker Fine Furniture, called upon us to photograph his hand made furniture for his entry in the Philadelphia Furniture Show. Utilizing our always ready cyclorama, multiple photos were made for use in brochures for the furniture show and website.
Littering is bad karma. Our planet is so precious and our most important job as its inhabitants is to protect it. That said, beach glass is the beautiful result of the careless act of tossing manmade glass into the ocean married with years of natural abrasion by wave and sand.
It has many names: mermaid tears, sea glass and trash glass among them. These particular pieces are part of my wife Elizabeth’s collection, gathered from many beaches from California to New Jersey. For this still life shot, I set the pieces in water and black lit them, illuminating their shape and vibrant colors. This photo is a favorite in my product and still life portfolios and is used as wall decor in my studio.
